A Glaze proves fuel saving for Aviation
Wed, 18/07/2012 - 20:45
A Glaze has succeeded in proving that applying the new 5.6 Aviation Sealant to Commercial and non commercial aircraft produces a significant reduction in drag on performance. Testing took place at the Aircraft Research Association centre in Bedford U.K.,at the end of May. Results which were confirmed on the day were welcomed by the Directors of AGlaze. . This will take the process to a new dimension and saw the official launch at the Farnborough Air Show where the product was shown to all the commercial airlines.
Already approved and used on Boeing and Airbus the new version will undoubtably be reviewed as well as update testing records logged which were due. British Midland International airlines have already been testing the product showing similar results as proved in the wind tunnel testing and shown a calclated fuel saving over a period of 12 months was 161 tonnes. Whilst fuel costs are rising it is apparent that this will be looked at closely by many of the airlines.
